Marisa N. Finkelberg
Marisa N. Finkelberg is an associate attorney at McCabe Coleman Ventosa & Patterson PLLC. Prior to joining the firm, she participated in the Pro Bono Scholars program that allowed her to take the bar exam early and devote her time to representing indigent clients. During that time, she worked as a student attorney with John Jay Legal Services’ Criminal Defense Clinic to represent underprivileged individuals in the Bronx charged with violations and misdemeanors. It was there that Marisa developed a keen sense to thoroughly investigate each case and represent her client’s needs vigorously.
At the same time, she worked as a Pro Bono Scholar Intern at Westchester Legal Aid where she gained experience on felony case representation and writing appeals. Marisa’s background, having also interned at the Westchester District Attorney’s Office, gives her a unique understanding of the prosecutor’s position and provides an edge when negotiating for better dispositions.
Marisa graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice from Pace University in 2015. In 2018, she earned a Juris Doctor with a criminal practice concentration, graduating magna cum laude, from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. During her time in law school, she was chosen to be the Executive Production Editor on Pace Law Review and contributed to various clubs and organizations such as Phi Alpha Delta. She is a currently a member of the Dutchess County Bar Association and the New York State Defenders Association.
She was admitted to the New York State Bar on June 13, 2018 and as a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, is proud to be serving the Hudson Valley Area in the private sector as a criminal and family law attorney, alongside very well-respected and knowledgeable attorneys at the firm.
